THE JSC AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO AREA STUDENTS

The Junior Service Club of Edwardsville/Glen Carbon proudly announced the recipients of its annual scholarship awards at the annual May Dinner Meeting held at the Crystal Garden BanquetCenter.


The scholarship recipients are Hanna Grace Beck and Betsy Taylor Cote, both of Edwardsville High School.


The JSC scholarship committee awards two $1,000 scholarships to qualified applicants from EHS and MELSH. The awards are given to female high school seniors whohave exhibited exemplary character, scholarship, andcommunity service.

“One of the benefits of community service is that it builds a person’s character,”  says JSC President,  Julie Smith. “It teaches you to communicate, to work as a team, and to take on leadership roles; all of these are skills that a person can use throughout their lives."


The JSC wishes the best to these recipients in their future endeavors and hopes that each will continue theirinvolvement in the community.
