![]() The Junior Service Club of Edwardsville / Glen Carbon, celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, presented a check in the amount of $4,500 to theGlen Ed Pantry today. The pantry serves approximately 475 District 7 families and provides regular, emergency, and referral services to families who qualify. The JSC donation will be used to “purchase shoes for all students plus PE uniforms for students in 6th -9th grades. All students receive a book bag and supplies based on their school list,” states Judy Moody, Executive Director of the Glen Ed Pantry. Members of the Junior Service Club, accompanied by their children who are known as the Junior Juniors, will also help the local Boy Scouts with their “Scouting for Food” food drive benefiting the Glen Ed Pantry on November 16. The Glen Ed Pantry is one of many recipients of the fundraising and volunteer efforts of the Junior Service Club. All money raised throughout the year stays within the community. JSC’s upcoming fundraising events include the Diamonds are Forever Dinner Auction on February 8, 2014, and Kidmania on March 8, 2014.

![]() Members from theJunior Service Club of Edwardsville/Glen Carbon today presented the Children’s Museum in Edwardsville with a $1,500.00 donation to support the Museum’s scholarships and educational programming. The donation will be used to underwrite the Children’s Museum’s educational programs that reach over 3,000 children ages 18 month to 10 years old each year. These programs include Preschool Playgroup, Field Trips, Outreach Programs, and Summer Explorers program. Since opening its doors in the historic Leclaire neighborhood in 2003, the Children’s Museum has become a great place for field trips, educational programs, camps, and family fun. The museum offers exhibits and activities geared toward children 18 months to age 10. Toddlers enjoy soft play areas throughout the Museum. Preschoolers and Children in the elementary grades love Star City, a kid-sized community with a market, café, hospital, post office, bank, library, fire department and police department, as well as the Science room with hands-on science based activities. District #7 Head Nurse, Christy Buie, thanks JSC for their generous contribution, which will “allow us to help our students and families throughout the school year when a need arises.” The fund allows school nurses to be able to provide for a variety of student needs such as physical exams and immunizations, basic clothing needs and even household necessities in times of crisis. The District #7 Nurses Fund is one of many recipients of the fundraising efforts of the Junior Service Club. All money raised throughout the year stays within the community.
