Members from theJunior Service Club of Edwardsville/Glen Carbon today presented the Children’s Museum in Edwardsville with a $1,500.00 donation to support the Museum’s scholarships and educational programming. The donation will be used to underwrite the Children’s Museum’s educational programs that reach over 3,000 children ages 18 month to 10 years old each year. These programs include Preschool Playgroup, Field Trips, Outreach Programs, and Summer Explorers program. Since opening its doors in the historic Leclaire neighborhood in 2003, the Children’s Museum has become a great place for field trips, educational programs, camps, and family fun. The museum offers exhibits and activities geared toward children 18 months to age 10. Toddlers enjoy soft play areas throughout the Museum. Preschoolers and Children in the elementary grades love Star City, a kid-sized community with a market, café, hospital, post office, bank, library, fire department and police department, as well as the Science room with hands-on science based activities.
