McKenna Miller couldn’t make up her mind.
The 16-year-old sophomore at Collinsville High School loved the long, beige dress with spaghetti straps and black and pewter beadwork.

SPRINGFIELD – Governor Pat Quinn today announced the winners of the 32nd Annual Governor’s Hometown Awards. The awards are presented to recognize volunteers across the state for their work in improving their communities and recipients were honored during a ceremony at the Illinois State Library in Springfield.
The Junior Service Club of Edwardsville/Glen Carbon, along with Edwardsville Township, was selected as the 2014 Governor’s Cup award winner, recognizing the state’s top community volunteer effort. The Governor’s Cup is a traveling silver trophy presented to the group whose efforts are deemed most representative of the spirit of Illinois volunteerism.
The Junior Service Club of Edwardsville/Glen Carbon (JSC) is currently collecting
formal attire to provide high school female students the chance to attend their schools’ prom.
Through donations of new and gently used formal dresses and accessories, the JSC’s Prom Dress Boutique is able to “turn dresses into dreams” for Junior and Senior High School girls
from Edwardsville High School orMetro East Lutheran High School.
Girls must be referred to the JSC through their school, church, or social care agency. Dresses, accessories, and shoes can be dropped off at the Crystal Garden, 1230 University Drive, Edwardsville or you can contact someone to pick up items by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Girls may register online on our website at http://www.edglenjuniorservice.org/prom-dress-boutique and pick a date for a private appointment to try on dresses and accessories.
