![]() March 8, 2016, Edwardsville, Illinois – Let’s face it, all women are superheroes. We wear lots of capes (mother, daughter, wife, friend, and caregiver, just to name a few), but the one cape that most often gets left in the closet is our “self” cape. If we forget to focus on ourselves, our superpowers get worn down, and we can no longer be a superhero for others. It’s time to get in touch with your inner superhero! That’s why the Junior Service Club of Edwardsville/Glen Carbon’s newest committee, JSC University, is planning a day focusing on women’s health and wellness on Sunday, April 10, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (doors open at 12:30 p.m.) in the LeClaire Room at the N.O. Nelson Complex, 600 Troy Road in Edwardsville. “We are so excited to present a new service activity that will benefit the women of our community,” stated Junior Service Club President Danielle Dacus. “Our club feels it’s important to create an atmosphere where women can talk about everything without limitations regarding our physical and mental health. We are also superheroes in our own right and it’s time we take care of ourselves, too.” The Women’s Wellness Expo will offer women a chance to learn the latest in health and wellness presented by specialists in the community. The event is FREE and will provide guests the opportunity to speak with experts, including keynote speaker and former Junior Service Club member, Loretta Goebel. There will also be booths providing health and wellness information, interactive breakout sessions featuring important topics pertaining to women, attendance prizes, and a cash bar. Pre-registration for the event is encouraged, but not required. Please visit www.memberplanet.com/s/jscuniversity/2016expo to register for the event appropriate for women of all ages.
