The Junior Service Club of Edwardsville/Glen Carbon, presented a check in the amount of $1,309 to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Hospice of Southern Illinois is a not-for-profit organization that provides specialized care services to patients at the end of life, in their own home or a home-like setting regardless of the patient’s age or ability to pay. Hospice of Southern Illinois is one of many local organizations to receive donations from the fundraising efforts of the Junior Service Club. All money raised throughout the year stays within the Edwardsville/Glen Carbon community. The Junior Service Club of Edwardsville/Glen Carbon, presented a check in the amount of $1,000 to Girls on the Run. Girls on the Run is a program that teaches life skills to local girls from 3rd through 8th grade. Through participation in Girls on the Run, adolescent girls gain confidence, team building skills and appreciation of health and fitness. Upon completion of the program, the participants complete a 5k together. Girls on the Run is one of many local organizations to receive donations from the fundraising efforts of the Junior Service Club. All money raised throughout the year stays within the community. JSC’s upcoming fundraising events include The Holiday House Tour on Sunday, December 7th 2014 and the 5th Annual Charity Gala on Saturday, February 7th 2015.
