Children, families, and city officials of Edwardsville gathered in the sizzling summer heat to participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony of Leon Corlew Park Saturday.
The park, located at the intersection of Schwartz and South Main, has been a big hit since opening to the public on Friday, July 8.
Edwardsville, IL - The Junior Service Club of Edwardsville/Glen Carbon is teaming up with Mike Shannon's Grill located at 871 South Arbor Vitae in Edwardsville. Mike Shannon's will be donating 10 percent of its sales to JSC this Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for dine in only. Diners must print and present the below flyer. Edwardsville, IL, March 10, 2016– The Junior Service Club of Edwardsville/Glen Carbon is committed to continuing education and to the development of strong young women in the community. Therefore, the Junior Service Club is inviting high school female seniors within School District 7 to apply for its scholarship. Two qualifying high school seniors will receive a $1,000 scholarship, paid to the student’s account at her school of choice.
To be eligible, applicants must graduate from Edwardsville High School, Metro East Lutheran High School or Father McGivney Catholic High School during the current year. They must graduate with a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and plan to attend an accredited college, university or trade school in the upcoming fall semester. The scholarship will be awarded based on an evaluation of the candidate’s scholarship, character, and service as reflected within the application, essay portion and letter of reference.
